Me and my partner Nur Çögen blended AI and movies this time. Our mission was to let students dive into the world of cinema by writing descriptive paragraphs while taking the feedback magic of ChatGPT.
As starting we wanted students to look at the given pictures and brainstorm. And guess who the artist behind these images was? None other than ChatGPT's artistic alter ego, DALL-E. For the main task, we asked them to write a description of one picture and use adjectives. This is where ChatGPT stepped into the spotlight. Students, armed with their creative prowess, submitted paragraphs for a touch of AI feedback magic and took recommendations. then we wanted them to revise their initial paragraph and enhance their writing.
In putting together this task, ChatGPT, DALL-E, and our trusty friend Canva teamed up seamlessly. Canva, being user-friendly, helped us spruce up our teaching material with visuals.
Considering the increasing role of AI in our daily lives, it's crucial to give students a heads-up on this tech. But it's not just about using these tools; it's about teaching students how to use AI and other resources smartly and responsibly. As teachers, we need to guide them in making the most out of these tools while keeping things ethical and efficient.
